Famous video-sharing app has taken the covers off its first ever hardware: Snapchat sunglasses. The second big change is company’s name which has been rebranded to Snap, Inc. The cool new ‘connected’ sunglasses are expected to arrive this fall and will cost $130.
Snapchat or Snap Inc. rolls out Spectacles that capture 10-second videos to be instantly shared with your friends. The new internet-savvy sunglasses and rebranding of the enterprise marks a new era where the tech company will no longer be limited to its flagship video-sharing app.

CEO Evan Spiegel told the Wall Street Journal that the scope of Snap Inc. will stretch beyond the Snapchat. ‘When I got the footage back and watched it, I could see my own memory, through my own eyes — it was unbelievable,” he told the news site.
The Snapchat-video recording spectacles feature 115-degree wide-angle lenses deliberately calibrated to such to approximate humans’ field of view, thus providing a more realistic video experience.
According to Spiegel, it is the closest he’d ever come to feeling like he was there. So in a way Spectacles provide a way to re-experience your memories. The latest camera-cum-sunglasses are expected to not only boost company’s growth but also make it stand apart from its social media competitors like the Instagram.
