The ‘In App’ search mode can also get handy when you find some text in your contact, message, or inside note apps. That’s not it, the tech titan has also promised to add more apps in the future, including but not limited to, Facebook Messenger, LinkedIn, Evernote, Glide, Todoist, and the company’s very own Google Keep.

The best thing about Google’s new In App search mode is that all the searching takes place locally on your phone so you would be able to search through your apps even if not connected to the internet. In short, it’s like the search bar you see in the Windows Explorer of Microsoft Windows, which has always been a much-awaited option in smartphones.

The upcoming LG V20 phone is bringing a dedicated for ‘In App’ search mode shortcut on the Home Screen and Second Screen. Other high-end smartphones are expected to follow the suite.
